The Shift

Exhibited in ‘STILL, WE BLOOM’ Exhibition at Sydney Art School, Hornsby 0n 15th Nov’2025

“Where life stood still and nothing seemed to move,

where hope lost its way and the world fell apart —

there came to light the understanding

which reach beyond what can be perceived.

In the unending days and nights, the stillness felt real.

Until today — when I felt the tiniest tremors rearrange the course of everything.

I was never still; with the changing light, I was slowly blooming.

I looked beyond what had shifted,

and learnt that believing beyond what I could perceive

had changed my fate.”

This series is inspired by those moments in my life when every door felt closed and no road seemed visible ahead, when the sea and the sky were my only companions. I have always believed that what we perceive and understand of life is only a small fragment of what it truly holds — much more lies within, to be unraveled.

Yet in times of despair, such beliefs often fade. To keep moving, I had to remind myself that life extends far beyond my understanding. Seeing truth as is and taking the next steps is all it takes. Bending the boundaries of perception to explore new possibilities is, in itself, an act of faith — a chance you give yourself, a shift that you make which can never be undone again.
